Introducing Lexi, Una & Fifi, the first puppies TNHA students have helped support through their training with the Guide Dogs for the Blind. Our recent fundraising day has enabled us to assist with the enormous costs involved, ultimately allowing them to graduate and quite literally change lives. This is what their new owners had to say:-
Lexi: Lexi’s owner Jillian was registered blind at 8 months of age. “With Lexi by my side I have the confidence to not only do the things I love but to tackle new challenges. She has absolutely enriched my life and truly is my whole word. Thank you from the bottom of my heart”
Una: Kathryn is Una’s proud owner who started to lose her sight in her late teens. “As a person, I like to be in control of my life, and it was important to me to keep my independence. With Una by my side I can do things spontaneously and lead an active life. She is my lifesaver”.
Fifi: Helping John enjoy life with his two small sons is Fifi. John gradually lost his sight and at one point had not been out to a supermarket for 20 years! “I feel the world is my oyster and I can’t wait to get out and about with Fifi by my side. I can’t believe it’s down to just one dog and the relationship we share!”
We look forward to updating you on the next class of puppies who will graduate their training later in the year.
A huge 'thank you' to everyone involved in our fundraising efforts!
