Governors are essential to the successful running of our academy. They play an important role in improving standards and work closely with the Principal to make key decisions affecting the education and well-being of the children. We currently have a vacancy for one Parent Governor on our Academy Committee.
What do Parent Governors do? As a Governor, you can help make sure our academy is run well, pass on your knowledge and experience as you'll understand other parents' hopes and concerns.
Your work as a Governor can include: Monitoring the work of the Principal and Senior Team, reviewing policies and procedures, and making sure they are used correctly & representing the parents’ view in all areas of the academy.
How much time does it take? As a Governor you would need to make time to: - prepare for and attend meetings, attend events such as concerts, open evenings, sports day etc. and visit the academy to monitor progress.
What will I get out of it? Being a Parent Governor means you can play an important role in improving and shaping your children's education. As well as giving you an opportunity to develop new skills and experience.
