You will remember the fundraising campaign by our students earlier in the year for this incredible young man and his family. Archie Ramshaw developed a very rare form of anaemia and is currently recovering after a bone marrow transplant in a London hospital. He has stayed strong and despite his ordeal has simply never given up!
His ready smile and resilience in the face of this illness has meant that he has won a KLFM 2018 Young Hero Award, presented today. Unfortunately, he was not well enough to attend in person but the radio station was able to ‘FaceTime’ him during the ceremony.
His friends at the academy have helped him stay strong by keeping in touch regularly and sending him parcels containing his favourite things whilst he has been in hospital which has meant such a lot to Archie and his family.
Very well done Archie for receiving this well deserved Award. The students and staff wish you well on your road to recovery and are proud that you are part of our community.
