The Academy Council
Members of the academy's Student Council are elected by their peers to represent them.
The council has an important role, which includes consulting on academy issues and decisions that affect students, reporting student concerns, finding out student views and representing us at public events.
The council meets at least half-termly.
The team are currently working to gather students' views on what the young people of Swaffham may need in the future. They are participating in the creation of the Local Neighbourhood Plan.
In the past, the team have visited and developed positive links with Westfields and other local care homes. They have led anti-bullying workshops for local junior school students. They have visited cluster schools during Safer Internet Week and presented. They have consulted on changes to the academy's uniform.
Students in leadership positions act as role models and take up responsibilities in the academy - this takes a special type of student. The term of office is from Easter to Easter each year.
